This publication comprises data on health-related research & development (R&D) carried out by companies, institutes and universities. R&D activities are measured in terms of labour volume (FTE) and expenditure.

Status of the figures: The figures are definitive unless mentioned otherwise.

Changes as of 14-01-2011:

  • New figures have been added for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007.
  • Due to the availability of better information regarding the separate functions of university hospitals, being curative care, research and education, the results of 2003 and 2004 on universities and university hospitals have been adjusted.

When will new figures be published? This table is discontinued.
