Binnen Europa worden momenteel een aantal thema's nader bekeken om door iedere lidstaat High Value datasets te publiceren. In het kader hiervan haalt data.overheid.nl de huidige beschikbare datasets in Nederland alvast bij elkaar voor zover bekend.

Het betreft de volgende thema's:
- Company and company ownership
- Geospatial (Adminstrative units, Place Names, Adresses and Buildings)
- Meteorological (Observations, Climate data, Radar data, Weather Prediction, Weather Alerts)
- Earth observation and environment
- Statistics (demography, labour market, GDP, Government finances)
- Mobility (road transport, rail transport, water trainsport, air transport, cableways)
