Usage:

We are conducting a research project on the effect of free trade on the gender wage gap in OECD countries. To achieve this, we require access to labor force and earnings data from Netherlands. Specifically, we are using the dataset that contains male and female income from 1970 onward.

Impact:

We will be able to test our model by simlating the evolution of gender wages and compare it to real data. This will allow us to either accept or reject the hypothesis that we have arrive from mathematical modeling.

What is your problem finding data?:

Data is er maar voldoet niet

What data is avalible?:

We found some data, but are not very sure whether we understand it correctly. We found the data on StatLine table Historie arbeid: 37543.

Why isnt this data sufficient?:

We are not sure whether the "Per maand: Maandloon, mannen" and "Per maand: Maandloon, vrouwen" means monthly wages of all male and female worker like machine translations suggests. The two mentioned series also begin in 1972 and discontinue in 1993 which is not sufficient for our purpose. We need data ideally from 1970 to 2023.

What have you already done to find the data?:

We try to search on StatLine using term such as "average wages" on the English version of the website. However, we think there might be some data availble on just the Dutch version StatLine as the table Historie arbeid: 37543 is only availble on the Dutch version of the website too.

De data eigenaar CBS geeft het volgende aan: Wij kunnen cijfers van 1995 t/m 2023 leveren. Hierbij is het belangrijk om aan te geven dat er verschil zal zijn tussen de jaarlonen voor en na 2006 (genormaliseerd vanuit enquête versus integrale waarneming). Berekening van jaarlonen is namelijk in de tussentijd aangepast. Het was genormaliseerde jaarlonen en werd integrale telling zonder normalisering.
